Meet Your Pet Sitters
Our goal is to provide In-Home quality care for your “pet-kids” . We will treat them with the same loving care we treat our own.
My wife Cathy and I adopted our first dog shortly after buying a home. Cathy felt the puppy was lonely so we adopted a second puppy. We have had at least one “K-9 kid” for the past 35 plus years. Yes, they have been inside dogs, after all, they think they are “people”.
We have been volunteers with Gold Ribbon Rescue (GRR) since moving to San Antonio in 2004. GRR is a Golden Retriever rescue group headquartered in Austin with volunteers covering the area from Killeen to Corpus Christi. We have fostered more than 25 Golden’s for over 3,000 foster days. We have cared for healthy Goldens and Goldens with heart worm, cancer, thyroid conditions, seizures, and surgeries.
We have cared for dogs and cats belonging to friends and neighbors when they traveled. We love dogs and cats!
I missed being a Texan by 1 block and growing up in a small town in Southwest Arkansas. I participated in the usual small town activities including little league baseball, cub scouts, and junior/senior high band.
In 2001, I received the Distinguished Service to Safety award which is the highest individual award given by National Safety Council. The same year I accepted an early retirement package after more than 25 years as a regional industrial safety manager for an Arkansas based utility corporation. In addition, I retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Senior Master Sergeant. Also, I loved serving as a volunteer fire fighter for 10 years until my job relocated me to a large city.
I’m an amateur radio operator with more than 20 years experience as a weather spotter and more than 10 years experience supporting emergency communications operations during emergencies and disasters. Our first Golden retriever loved accompanying me on weather spotting outings. I’m also a Master Instructor for Bexar County Community Emergency Response Team.
